Speaking Your Best Policies
Payments for courses
  1. Courses can be purchased directly on the Speaking Your Best website and must be paid in full prior to the start of the course.  Fees are not refundable once a course has begun.
  2. Speaking Your Best accepts all major credit cards, as well as PayPal and Venmo.

Student responsibilities and information
  1. Students will receive class notes/homework assignments following each class.
  2. Students will have access to Speaking Your Best Online (SYB Online), our student website with a wealth of information on American English.  Most of what they learn is included in this site.
  3. After a course is completed, students will continue to have access to Speaking Your Best Online for as long as they wish.  This is encouraged to maximize improvement in spoken English skills taught during a course.
  4. If a student needs to cancel a class, they should contact the instructor as soon as possible (at least 24 hours in advance, if possible). This way, the class can be rescheduled to a later day and time.
  5. "No shows" and last-minute cancellations will count as a class and cannot be made up.
  6. An instructor will wait 15 minutes after the class begins for a student.  If the student does not log on during this time, the instructor will log off and count this as a missed class.
  7.  If a student pauses a course due to work schedule, vacation or other reasons, the course must resume within one year. No refunds will be given once a course has started.

Course requirements
  1. Each student is required to be fluent in English.  Speaking Your Best's program picks up where ESL ends.  This means that a student should be able to understand American English and be able to carry on a conversation.
  2. There are no level requirements for speech clarity.  This means that Speaking Your Best will work with any individual, regardless of their accent level.  Classes range from working with individuals with mild to very heavy accents.
  3. Classes will be conducted on Zoom.
