In today's society, oral communication is very important. In the business world, you will be expected to speak in sentences that are grammatically correct. Your listeners will notice when you make mistakes. Using the correct word order and forming parts of speech correctly for tense, plurals, etc. is important.
When an individual learns English as a second language, they naturally incorporate some of the grammar from their native language. This means that their word order and how they form parts of speech may be incorret in English.
For example, the Chinese language does not have articles or pronouns, and does not add endings for verb tense. Therefore, when a native Chinese speaker speaks English, they often omit articles, pronouns and the "ed" past tense endings on verbs, just to name a few.
Speaking Your Best will identify the areas of spoken language in which you are having difficulty by having you complete a short speaking assessment and work with you to improve your skills. In every speaking situation, you will be in control of your speech and feel confident that you are speaking in sentences that are organized and well-formed.
Classes are only $80 each, with a minimum of three required.
